Leasing Services

PennSouthern Leasing Services is a subsidiary of the Logan Southern Companies, Inc. and Penn Central Transportation Company. We offer many services, including locomotive and equipment leasing, as well as the PC-LSRS Boxcar Pool®.

PC-LSRS Boxcar Pool®:
The PC-LSRS Boxcar Pool® is designed to bring faster service, but at a lower price. Unit trains are expected to start by July. They are pulled by specially painted locomotives, most of which are GP30's and GP35's. Currently, all the boxcars are 40' AAR-type boxcars, but we will soon be getting bigger, more modern boxcars to handle the different commodities. Click here to see a photo of the first boxcar.

PennSouthern Locomotive Leasing:
Though this is still being worked on, locomotives will range from switch engines to big road units. Roster includes (or will include) SW1500's, SD40-2's, SD45-2's, GP40-2's, GP38-2's, SD50's, GP50's, and F40PH's. They won't be painted up special (in order to pass the savings on to you!), but will have the PC-LSRS numbers and reporting marks (PSLX).  Currently, forty locomotives are available for lease.

PennSouthern Equipment Leasing:
Equipment available for lease include boxcars, gondolas, coal hoppers, covered hoppers, and intermodal equipment. These also are painted like the locomotives, with just reporting marks (PSLX) and the PennSouthern numbers.  Currently, 170 pieces of equipment are available for lease.

Contract Repairs and Rebuilds:
These services will be done at either Penn Central or Logan Southern car/locomotive shops. Both offer the same quality and services, but it depends on how much each can handle. If a PC shop is overloaded with work, then a car or locomotive is shipped to the LSRS shops and vice versa. We can also paint your cars for you. Just give us your paint color, stencils, and we can go to work - at a competitive price!
